While the core mechanics of this baseball game are sound, it bothered me so much that you played just three innings. Still, the game isn’t terrible and honestly the resounding thumps of the punching sounds are super satisfying when you’re in the zone and feeling it. Not only that, but making your character transparent in an attempt to make it almost-but-not-quite first person didn’t really work for me either, as a more normal, fixed camera behind a shoulder might have worked better. It was always the game on the disk that I played the least with friends and family. Not only that, the boxing game just always felt… the least fun of the core five Wii Sports games. Whenever I played, I always swayed too often to the right or left in a movement that felt out of my control, making my character’s giant head oscillate wildly and making it very difficult to land my punches or time my blocks.
